Speak to God in His Holy Spirit

Prayers & Devotionals

Life gets heavy. Some mornings the weight is the first thing you feel, and some nights the worries follow you to bed. Scripture offers a different invitation:

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6–7 (KJV)

Our prayers and devotionals are prayerfully created to meet real world problems and challenges that we all face every day: anxiety and fear, grief and loss, strain in the family, money worries, loneliness, doubt and much more. Each one points back to the One who says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, KJV).

Begin and End the Day With God

Two of the oldest habits of prayer are also the simplest: giving God the first words of the morning and the last words of the night.

Morning

“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.”

Psalm 5:3 (KJV)

Evening

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”

Psalm 4:8 (KJV)
